Clos Marfisi is a family and historic estate located in the heart of the small wine-growing village of Patrimonio. Mathieu and Julie, who run the vineyard, are brother and sister and together form the 5th generation to produce the estate's wines. The estate has been certified organic since 2018 and their wines are meticulously crafted, in the good old-fashioned way, without frills. In the cellar, aging is mostly in concrete or stainless steel tanks with little intervention.
For several years, Mathieu has been president of the Patrimonio winegrowers' association and is largely involved in organic farming and the qualitative improvement of wine production in the appellation. The appellation is also a pioneer in France, having banned all synthetic chemical herbicides in agreement with all its winegrowers, officially since July 2022!
