MICHEL COUVREUR Single Clearach 43% 70cl
Malt alcohol distilled in Scotland, aged in old very old Sherry casks then reduced unfiltered to 43% alc/vol. with Scottish water during bottling. Rich almond aromas typical of barley. Dried fruit flavor plus an elegant herbaceous freshness.
Whiskies signed Michel Couvreur are synonymous with aging, maturation, Sherry casks… Michel Couvreur had a very personal vision of whisky and dedicated his work and research to the evolution of whisky since 1978. It is in galleries dug into the heart of the Burgundian rock in an impressive humidity level, silence and calm at a depth of 10m that the whiskies evolve, mature, grow. All of this is combined with a selection of enviable casks from the most beautiful bodegas and estates, the whiskies achieving a style and nobility after several years of maturation. Even though Michel passed away in 2013, the strength and work continue in the good hands of his cellar master Jean Arnaud Frantzen and his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps, supported by Michel's wife Marthe and his daughter Alexandra.
