Grapes: 75% Cabernet Franc & 25% Tannat
Terroir: Clay-limestone
Vinification: Direct pressing, followed by cold settling for 10 days to bring out as much aroma as possible. Fermentation begins in tank, then the wine is bottled so that fermentation finishes naturally in the bottle. After 3 months of ageing on lees (on point), the bottles are disgorged by hand to remove the coarser lees. The bottles are then sealed permanently. No sulphites are added and no filtration is performed.
Tasting notes: The nose reveals a hint of spice and a touch of citrus. With aeration, red fruit aromas emerge, morello cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry.
On the palate, the texture is round and fresh, with subtle notes of grapefruit peel.
We love this wine for its freshness and delicious character.
🍷 Serving temperature: 10°C
It was in 1985 that Daniel Saint-Orens gave a new purpose to the family farm, out with the cattle, in with the grapes. By planting vines on the heights of Maumusson-Laguian, he fully embraced the Madiran adventure. In 2021, his son Florian returned home after gaining experience in other wine estates. Brimming with ideas, he holds nothing back in cultivating his 10 hectares, planted with Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Colombard. Organic practices in the vines, he experiments with various vessels for vinification (barrels, jars, tanks), seeking fresh expressions that remain true to his clay-limestone terroir.
