Dominique DUFOUR Les Aussigouins 2020 VdF (Anjou) 75cl White
Grape variety: Chenin
Terroir: Schist and spilite, volcanic-origin soils. From a parcel neighbouring the Noëls de Montbenault. Vinification and ageing focus on autolysis and controlled oxygenation.
We’re thrilled to welcome the sensational wines of Dominique, which align perfectly with the spirit and precision of Richard Leroy’s wines.
After a career in the aerospace industry in Paris and Bordeaux, Dominique Dufour and his wife Marie-Claude decided, upon retirement, to return to Rablay-sur-Layon, Dominique’s family village. They moved into his parents’ old winegrower’s house, set up a tiny winery, and reclaimed a few parcels of vines. And not just any vines; 70 ares in a single block on the Aussigouins parcel, just opposite Richard Leroy’s famed Noël de Montbenault.
Dominique tends his vineyard like a garden. With organic farming and biodynamic principles, he manages to express the vibrant voice of his terroir with clarity and respect.
