Valérie and Benoît Lahaye cultivate almost 5 hectares in Bouzy on the Montagne de Reims using animal traction, with plots in Bouzy, Ambonnay Grand Cru, and Tauxières Premier Cru. The new generation, with their two sons Etienne and Valentin, is now also at work on the estate!
This has been a benchmark estate for several years, choosing to treat its vineyard biodynamically with plants and minerals since taking over the vines in 1993. "We must reclaim the land!" Vinified in barrels, with malolactic fermentation complete and no dosage, their white and rosé champagnes deliver intense and complex flavors of ripe grapes, alongside an increasingly airy approach. The expressions go beyond the fruity dimension of Pinot Noir, patiently building the mineral and profound dimension expected of a Grand Cru.
