CLOS DE CHOZIEUX

In the Massif Central at Jean Luc Gaumon's Clos de Chozieux in Forez in Haute Loire! Nestled on the first chain of Auvergne volcanoes in the small appellation (just 150 hectares...!) of Côtes du Forez. The minerality and fruity freshness are found in the different cuvées on granite or basalt, with a grape variety unique to the region in red, Gamay Saint Romain... with small, tight bunches, growing straight, giving characteristic spicy and peppery wines. Or the astonishing Gamaret, a very recent grape variety of Swiss origin with notes of ripe plum, liquorice, and violet... gourmet, crisp, and finely rustic at the same time... very Swiss, you know ;);)
