Clos Marfisi is a family-owned and historic estate located in the heart of the small wine-growing village of Patrimonio. Mathieu and Julie, who run the vineyard, are brother and sister and represent the fifth generation to produce the estate's wines. The estate has been certified organic since 2018, and their wines are meticulously crafted, in a traditional, no-frills manner. In the cellar, most of the aging takes place in concrete or stainless steel tanks, with minimal intervention.
For several years, Mathieu has been president of the Patrimonio winegrowers' association and is deeply involved in organic farming and the qualitative improvement in the production of the appellation's wines. This appellation, incidentally, is a pioneer in France, having banned all synthetic chemical herbicides in agreement with all its winegrowers, officially since July 2022!
