Jean Maupertuis is a winemaker in Auvergne, on plots facing Clermont-Ferrand in Saint-Georges-sur-Allier. This gentleman, of great kindness and humility, decided to set up shop in 1996 after starting a completely different career. His idea was to be close to nature and work naturally. His small cellar door may not look like much, but behind it Jean works meticulously and his wines have never stopped pleasing! Jean cultivates just over 3 hectares of Gamay and Pinot Noir; his wines are fresh with rather low alcohol content thanks to the altitude of the plots (450 m).
