MARIOTTI BINDI

Nicolas Mariotti Bindi initially pursued law studies before deciding he'd rather work with his hands in the vineyards of Corsica. He trained in Moulin-à-Vent then returned to Corsica where he worked alongside the Arena family and Domaine Leccia, with whom he still maintains very close ties. Thus, in 2007, he decided to strike out on his own, cultivating 5 hectares of vines belonging to winemaker Orenga de Gaffory. Then, little by little, he expanded his small estate by purchasing 2 hectares which he planted using massal selection and high density. His estate, now comprising about fifteen hectares of Nielluccio and Vermentino, is entirely organically farmed. In his small, renovated cellar - a former fire station! - in Oletta, winemaking is as natural as possible, with no or very little punching down, all infusion for the reds, with a tiny dose of sulfur added at bottling; aging is exclusively in stainless steel tanks, concrete, and ovoid concrete vats. Also very concerned with transparency, a lot of information is detailed on the labels.
