QUINTA DA MURADELLA

Quinta da Muradella in Galicia is the story of a gamble on the rural environment and neglected old vines. Driven by a true calling, José Luis Mateo took over the vineyards his father cultivated in Monterrei, a region with a continental climate on the Portuguese border.

Working organically, he champions grape variety diversity: Bastardo, Mencía, Garnacha Tintorera, Caiño Tinto, Albarello, Arauxa, Sousón, Zamarrica... often from his own mass selections.

The wines are personal favorites: remarkably fine and delicate, with an almost Jura-like style, far from preconceived notions about Spanish wines.
