SOUTH WEST WINE TASTING Jurançon, Madiran, Irouleguy 4 August 2026
South-West France Wine Tasting with Thomas Buisson or Romain Geronimi
Available whenever you like, subject to availability! Tastings are offered in French or English.
Our wine shop is located in the charming city of Pau, at the foot of the Pyrenees, perfectly positioned between the vineyards of Jurançon to the south, Irouléguy to the west, and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh and Madiran to the north. We invite you to discover one of France’s best-kept wine secrets; a region now attracting the attention of wine lovers worldwide thanks to its remarkable terroirs, mountain influence, and the vibrant natural acidity of its native grape varieties.
During the tasting, we will guide you through these three wine regions, compare their dry white wines, and introduce you to one of France’s oldest sweet wines (older even than the famous Sauternes) with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. While Madiran and Irouléguy are also renowned for their outstanding reds, red wines remain rare in Jurançon, making this tasting primarily focused on white wines. Of course, we are happy to tailor the selection to your interests.
Along the way, you’ll discover the history of the region through its wines, indigenous grape varieties, unique terroirs, and the passionate winegrowers who bring them to life.
Please allow 1 to 2 hours, depending on how deeply you would like to explore the wines and the region.
Available by reservation between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Maximum 8 participants.
