The Vendée and its fiefs have a long history in the region, but the appellation itself is relatively young, officially recognised in 2011, covering just 376 hectares! The Orion family founded the estate in 1978 on the Chantonnay fault, an area with remarkable soil diversity (flint, gneiss, orthogneiss, amphibolite, and gray and red schist). The estate adopted organic farming in 2015 with the arrival of the next generation.
A beautiful diversity of grape varieties is grown here, including Chardonnay, Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Négrette!
