CLOS SIGUIER Les Camille Vieilles Vignes 2022 Cahors 75cl Red
Grape variety: 70-year-old Malbec
Rich and concentrated, the grapes struggle to grow on the shallow clay-limestone soils. Only 10% of the appellation's winegrowers maintain the original terroir for the production of Auxerrois (Malbec). The estate has 15 hectares of vines grown with the strictest respect for the environment, without official certification. Winemaking is also natural.
Tasting notes: A cuvée that is both delicate and powerful, with fresh plum notes and light, well-integrated, supple oak. The texture is silky, with notes of violet and blackberry. Truly authentic!
🍷 Serving temperature 17°
The estate is located in the Quercy Blanc or Causse Blanc due to the high proportion of light-coloured limestone rock, and we are with the Bley family, winemakers since 1779! Today, Baptiste has taken over from his father Gilles, who is still by his side and who already ensured that he worked with respect for his environment. The younger generation aims to go even further and reintroduce animals that were once present on the estate, a beautiful project in progress. A little nod and thanks to François Hadji Lazaro (from the bands Pigalle and Garçons bouchers… who passed away in 2023!), through whom I discovered this estate a few years ago…
