DOMAINE HAUGAROT André Jean 2024 Jurançon 75cl Sweet white
Grape variety: Petit Manseng
Tasting notes: A beautiful golden colour, with an elegant nose of candied exotic fruits. The palate is generous, underpinned by a fine acidity typical of Jurançon, carrying the wine from the attack through to a long finish.
🍷 Serving temperature: 12 °C.
Jean-Pierre Proharam founded his estate in 2004. His father already owned a few vines, whose harvest was sold to the local cooperative. Located on the hillsides of Lasseube, the vineyards benefit from fine exposures, with the majestic Pic du Midi d’Ossau as a backdrop. Jean-Pierre is deeply committed to environmental respect and meticulous vineyard care; everything is farmed organically and biodynamically, with a strong emphasis on observation. Very attached to Occitan culture, he draws inspiration from it when naming his cuvées: “Sonque Ta Tu” (“Just for you”, dedicated to his daughter) and “Esberit” (“Fiery”, for his son).
As a small anecdote, Jean has been the name given to the eldest son for four generations, in homage to the Pic du Midi d’Ossau, affectionately nicknamed locally “Jean-Pierre”.
