DOMINIQUE ANDIRAN Le Ruminant des Vignes 7102 Vin de France (Gers, Oxidative Wine) 75cl White
Grape Variety: Gros Manseng
Tasting Notes: An extraordinary, singular wine; between a Fino, Jaune or Jura Typé, and Madeira; aged 3 years oxidatively without topping up but with a lighter veil. Familiar to fans of Domino's "Pissenlits" but truly different! Very complex on the nose, with notes of bergamot tea, oriental spices, and a light smokiness. The palate is rich and concentrated, with a slight tannic edge and beautiful, invigorating acidity.
This cuvée is named after a fossil resembling a Neolithic horse found in one of Domino's vineyards.
🍷 Serve at 14°C, great aging potential.
Dominique Andiran, a winemaker with a strong personality who hardly needs an introduction, is located near us in Montréal du Gers, in the Gersois part of Armagnac. He has an almost innate talent for making wine! He is one of the best self-taught natural wine producers of his time! Whites, reds, oxidative wines... his "natural" wines reflect the winemaker's unique personality!
With 7 hectares of vines, a lot of manual work in the vineyard and very little intervention in the cellar... nature is allowed to express itself. For natural wine lovers and the curious, these are a must-try!
