Ludovic Payen is one of the many new-wave winemakers shaping the French wine scene. After a first career in finance, he swiftly turned toward the vine. Gaining hands-on experience working as a vineyard labourer in several prestigious estates, Ludovic found himself unexpectedly taking over the 28-hectare Domaine Martin in Chaudefonds-sur-Layon, in the heart of Anjou Noir.
Though not planning to manage a vineyard of this scale so early on, he was able to count on a seasoned team already in place to craft his first wines and what a debut! The “Prélud” bottles are his opening statements: wines full of vitality, freshness, and zesty energy, designed to quench and delight.
