Florent and Julien Mignon, the Mignon Brothers, took over their father’s vineyards in 2015. They are part of the new generation of Champagne growers. They work 8.5 hectares of vines with beautiful genetic heritage (massal selections), located in the Grand Cru villages of Avize and Cramant, as well as the Premier Cru villages of Cuis and Cumières (Pinot Noir). The estate is farmed organically and follows biodynamic principles. Their wines generally do not undergo malolactic fermentation (although it isn’t blocked), which preserves a lovely, pronounced tension. And a fun detail: the two brothers are comic book fans and have given each of their barrels the name of a comic book hero (see photo below).
