GERARD MUGNERET Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2018 75cl Red

€27700 EUR

Grape Variety: Pinot Noir

Terroir: Plot in the locality "Les Charmes", from the Latin "Calmis" meaning "stony plateau".

Vinification/Aging: 55% whole cluster, barely 30% new oak.

Tasting: This cru combines precision, minerality, controlled power, and an enchanting aromatic profile of red fruits nuanced with floral notes. Good energy and balance.

In 2005, Pascal Mugneret joined the family estate after a career as an engineer. He followed his father Gérard, his grandfather René, and his great-grandfather Eugène in this beautiful profession of winemaker. And it was not without much thought, as Pascal is a very thoughtful person. Here are some excerpts from his thoughts that can be found on his website. "First and foremost, I particularly like the term "vigneron" (winemaker), it constantly brings us back to the earth, to the peasant common sense of observation, that of our grandparents, that which we have so much trouble rediscovering."

"In short, not all wines are exceptional, capable of long aging... Just as not all of us are beautiful, rich, strong, and intelligent. But each of us steers our own boat, each wine will tell a story, a story that should be embraced young if the wine had a difficult birth, and conversely, a story that will be discovered after and for several years so that the encounter is even more beautiful."
