GRANDE CHARTREUSE Yellow MOF 45% 70cl

€8700 EUR

The famous Chartreuse liqueurs need no introduction!

This special Yellow Chartreuse cuvée was first created in 2008 by the Carthusian Monks in close collaboration with the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Sommeliers (M.O.F.).

Yellow Chartreuse:

Created in 1840, this yellow liqueur was inspired by the recipe for the Elixir Végétal. It became so popular that Father Garnier, the procurator and liqueur manager at the time, later decided to officially name it Yellow Chartreuse and registered the "Chartreuse" brand in 1852. It is a liqueur with an alcohol content of 43°, still produced and manufactured by the Carthusian Monks today.

Composition: alcohol, sugar, water, plant substances (130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices).

Alcohol content: 45% vol.

Elaboration: Yellow Chartreuse is characterized by its sweetness, its spicy aromas and its natural color derived from the 130 plants, flowers, barks, roots and spices.
Its elaboration is significantly different from Green Chartreuse, requiring several weeks of work and taking place in several stages:
- Mash prepared by the monks in the plant room at the Grande Chartreuse monastery.
- Distillation to obtain the aroma.
- Different types of cold macerations / infusions that extract the active principles of the plants
- Aging in oak foudres before bottling
