New arrivals at the Cave
Let's start our summer journey in our beautiful South-West with a new wine from Sébastien Coustarret in Jurançon: "6e Sens", a 100% Gros Manseng made entirely naturally, without sulfites. An atypical Jurançon, both approachable and full-bodied, with a gourmet taste of juicy yellow fruits! An ideal summer vintage!
The confidential wines of the magician/musician Imanol Garay are back! We had the chance to taste some new releases Find 2 red cuvées in collaboration with Mathieu Moulic his accomplice, and the new vintages of the beautiful Ixilune (white from Pacherenc) and Abiatu (red from Madiran) - this one is also available in Jeroboam !!
The new vintages of our unconditional favorite Miqueu from Domaine Entras in Gers - Tenarèze are here! Following in his parents' footsteps, the entire vineyard is now certified organic. In addition to extensive soil work in his vines, the wines are precise and crafted with very little intervention. The entire range is delicious, full-bodied, and gourmet!
A tour of the Champagnes de Vignerons? Of course! What a question! The cuvées we love so much are back from Ruppert-Leroy and Rémi Leroy in the Côte des Bar. Both produce magnificent Champagnes from Pinot Noir, the grape variety of choice in this area, with a light dosage in Extra-Brut or Brut Nature with no dosage at all!
Also worth noting is the return of one of our flagship estates for regulars of our shop, Domaine Colin in the Vendômois, with such an exciting quality/price ratio! This family estate owns plots on flinty clay soils and particularly showcases Pineau d'Aunis, an endemic grape variety of this corner of France, juicy, with very peppery aromatics.
And then some new arrivals from our European neighbours, some old favourites and some new discoveries! In Galicia, we find the Fedellos do Couto project, a group of 4 enthusiasts in Ribeira Sacra, one of the most beautiful Spanish appellations! Their wines, both white and red, are made in old barrels with very little intervention; the finesse of their juice is remarkable, it's a guaranteed favourite ! It's also the return of Domaine Forjas del Salnès in the Rias Baixas, also in Galicia! This family estate produces one of the most beautiful Albariño , a very precise cuvée, blending tension and salinity! It's also one of the rare estates to produce red wine from indigenous grape varieties: Caiño, Loureiro, Espadeiro. This project, initiated by the grandfather who is still with us, gives birth to a red wine with a strong personality, combining body, tension and iodine, worth a try, don't you think?
Finally, a new arrival straight from Hungary, from the Moric Project on the slopes of Lake Balaton: it's a blend of Riesling and Furmint creating a little bomb of white fruits and mineral salts!
