Corsica is in the spotlight, especially Patrimonio, that beautiful appellation in the north of the island! With its mosaic of beautiful terroirs and its breathtaking view of the Gulf of Saint-Florent, several young winemakers are dedicated to working with precision and high standards.
The appellation is also a pioneer in France; in agreement with all its winemakers, it officially banned all synthetic chemical herbicides since July 2022!
In the AOC Patrimonio, the Domaine Giacometti, which you liked so much, is back with its latest vintages! Nestled in the heart of the Agriates desert in a small paradise, Sarah & Simon continue their father's work, in Organic Agriculture, with a young and relaxed but resolutely precise dynamic! The vines are worked very conscientiously to produce juicy, sun-drenched and very representative wines of the terroir!
A beautiful novelty in the cellar is the Clos Marfisi, located in the heart of the small winegrowing village of Patrimonio. Julie and Mathieu, brother & sister and representatives of the 5th generation, perpetuate the family work to produce beautiful terroir wines. In the cellar, mainly concrete or stainless steel aging and few interventions. They also have an original and delicious cuvée, Uva, which highlights some old indigenous grape varieties!
Gamay aficionados, this is for you
Here are some new Beaujolais wines from Domaine Les Bertrand! We already had their Fleurie cuvée on our shelves, and now we finally have the little sisters of the range! This estate is now in its 3rd generation with Yann joining in 2012. He is spontaneously passionate about natural wines and biodynamics, the previous generations having already paved the way: soil work with compost, understanding of microbiology, particular attention to endemic flora, biodynamic treatments, totally natural vinifications. He seeks a lively and vibrant wine!!
Here are the new vintages from Loren Tisserand of Domaine Terres de Roa, whose wines we really love, imbued with her gentle and delicate winemaking touch! Located in the Saint-Pourçain AOC in the Volcanic Loire, she continues the work of the 11-hectare family vineyard. All the vines are organically farmed and thrive on plots that are sometimes sandy for fruity roundness, sometimes granitic for the expression of minerality. The cuvées, whatever the vintages, are always precise, mouth-watering, and captivating! Discover her cuvée Solaire 2020, a blend of Chardonnay and the indigenous "Tressalier" grape, with a beautiful minerality and vivacity!
Finally, here are the arrivals from this famous and much-loved appellation, nestled in the foothills of the CĂ©vennes â°ïž: Pic Saint-Loup! This AOC benefits from both continental and Mediterranean influences, and is in fact the wettest region in Languedoc! Made predominantly from Syrah, the wines are rather dense and spicy but balanced by a timeless freshness typical of this microclimate. Freshly received, the latest vintages from Mas Peyrolle are structured yet ethereal; also the lovely Domaine Mirabel from the very north of the appellation on the Gard side, composed mainly of the typical "gravette" soil; and the return of the newcomer, the Mas du Figuier, with its very enjoyable and crowd-pleasing cuvĂ©es! đ
