LA CAILLABERE Abora 2019 Vin de France (Béarn) 75cl Red
€8,50
"Abora" is Béarnais for "À la bonne heure" which means "perfect timing" in English!
Grape Varieties: 90% Tannat & Cabernet Franc, with an extremely gentle pressing only!
Tasting Notes: A smooth and fresh palate with red fruit flavours like Burlat cherry and raspberry. The tannins are elegant, and the finish is fresh; truly surprising!
In 1992, in the commune of Taron, Jean-Marc Larroudé embarked on his winemaking journey by taking over the family vineyards of Domaine de la Caillabère. From the outset, he planted new vines and expanded the estate to 4 hectares, spread across three plots, cultivating traditionally Béarnais grape varieties such as Petit and Gros Manseng, as well as Tannat (along with some Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon). Always guided by a farmer’s common sense, Jean-Michel, soon to be joined by his son-in-law, naturally turned to organic farming to achieve an ever more refined expression of the terroir.
