LA CAILLABERE Variation 2021 Vin de France (Béarn) 75cl White
€15,00
Grape Varieties: 90% Gros Manseng & Petit Manseng
Exposure: East / South-East
Aging: Stainless steel tank, 8 months in used oak barrels from the Bertranges forest.
Tasting Notes: The wine has a light golden colour with beautiful legs. The nose reveals subtle notes of very ripe citrus fruits, offering a pleasant minerality. The attack is crisp, leading to a palate of spiced flowers wrapped in a light, delicately integrated oakiness. With impressive length, the finish is delightfully honeyed.
In 1992, in the commune of Taron, Jean-Marc Larroudé embarked on his winemaking journey by taking over the family vineyards of Domaine de la Caillabère. From the outset, he planted new vines and expanded the estate to 4 hectares, spread across three plots, cultivating traditionally Béarnais grape varieties such as Petit and Gros Manseng, as well as Tannat (along with some Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon). Always guided by a farmer’s common sense, Jean-Michel, soon to be joined by his son-in-law, naturally turned to organic farming to achieve an ever more refined expression of the terroir.
